Carleton University's Environmental Science program is a fully interdisciplinary program that includes relevant courses in biology, chemistry, geography, earth sciences, and mathematics, besides a course in ethics and courses dealing directly with the Environment.
At the end of their Earth Sciences degree program, students will have become recognized professionals and go on to positions of responsibility in their chosen field.
The development of technology will no longer be governed solely by technical feasibility and economic gain, but also by desirability in terms of human and environmental values. TSE courses include group projects.
Training those who decide on the fate of our environment is critical. Decision-makers must not only master the techniques of environmental management, and also understand the daunting complexity of this science and be able to recognize and evaluate its challenges on the broadest possible scale. At the University of Ottawa, all CO-OP programs are optional, and admission is based on academic achievement and the number of jobs available each year.
