EEES, Earth, Energy, and Environmental Sciences is an academically flexible program of study that fosters interdisciplinary scientific research between the three departments within the School of Earth Sciences. It is intended for those students wishing to draw on the knowledge, tools, and approaches that span the breadth of research being conducted within Stanford University.
Each house should select an Environmental Representative. An eRep ensures that his or her dormitory has adequate recycling facilities; announces lectures, group meetings, panels, and other environmental activities; and generally encourages environmentally-sensitive living.
The Department of Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) is the principal health and safety office at Stanford University. EH&S works closely with the University Safety Partners (the designated safety officers in the laboratory schools, Operations and Maintenance and Housing and Food Services) and the safety coordinators, safety committees, administrators and faculty in the departments.
CEES is a partnership between the School of Earth Sciences, the Computer Systems Laboratory, private industry and government. The center's integration of Earth science and computer science builds capacity in computational methods for the Earth and environmental sciences and enables new growth in areas where computational activities exist already.
